Ballast and Heavy Ballast Chokes

Ballast chokes are a must for battery chargers to limit inrush currents during charging. The inrush depends upon the condition of the battery and the nature of charging characteristics.

Heavy ballasting is required for batteries in a highly discharged condition and the choke is provided with taps for variation of droop depending on the quick charge. Such chargers are in demand where forklifts, cranes etc require a quick charge at site.
